The Library of Shyambazar Law College was established in the year 2012. It is one of the richest and potential libraries among the Law Colleges in West Bengal. Libraries are the gateways to knowledge and culture. It plays a fundamental role in every legal institution to impart knowledge and meet up the changing needs of society. The resources and services they offer create opportunities for learning, support literacy and education, intellectual thinking, research capabilities and help to shape the new ideas and perspectives that are central to a creative and innovative society. They also help ensure an authentic record of knowledge created and accumulated by past generations. In a world without libraries, it would be difficult to advance research and human knowledge or preserve the world’s cumulative knowledge and heritage for future generations

Our library maintains a compendious subscription of journals and magazines which are updated frequently. Books, journals and magazines have been organized in an exhaustive and scientific mode in order to support research work in various disciplines. The institution subscribes to all local daily newspapers, legal journals which are displayed in the library for the students.

The Library has over 2221number of books and a large number of law reports and journals. It subscribes to leading national journals that caters to the needs of students and researchers engaged in legal studies and intensive research. Our Library aims and look forward to producethe best of researchers, scholars and legal luminaries.

All the library documents are classified according to DDC and catalogued according to AACR2R. The library is automated with the software KOHA with Bar coding facilities. Library provides access all time to all students, teachers, staffs through OPAC. A separate reading room with seating capacity of 80 students is provided. Our Library also provides an enriched collection with sufficient number of copies of books for lending purposes
